The three parties of the German coalition government—Social Democrats, Greens and Free Democrats—have presented a motion to the Bundestag to deliver visibly more long-range weapons systems to Ukraine. While they don’t explicitly mention the “Taurus” cruise missiles in the coalition proposal, the draft of the motion—which was first reported by Stern magazine and which was also made available both to DPA and ARD TV’s main office—calls for “the delivery of additional long-range weapons systems and ammunition required to enable Ukraine ... to carry out targeted attacks on strategically relevant targets far to the rear of the Russian aggressor in accordance with international law.” It adds that another goal is to “further strengthen the land forces with the delivery of armored combat systems and protected vehicles.”
