There was a reported turnout of roughly 73% registered voters in the elections for 110 deputies to the National Assembly and 12,514 deputies for local councils, today, the first time that Belarus has held such elections in one day. Presidential elections will be held next year.
Both President Aleksandr Lukashenko and his son voted at their polling places in Minsk, where the President spoke to reporters.
He reiterated his earlier warnings that forces in Poland and NATO were discussing with the Belarus opposition in exile, in the light of a possible invasion, eventually dividing up Belarus, with Poland getting the western part of Belarus and Belarus getting a part of Russia.
