Former President Donald Trump dined with billionaire casino executive Miriam Adelson in Las Vegas on Feb. 11. In the 2020 campaign, she (along with her late husband Sheldon) were the biggest donors to Trump, with $90 million. Their casino money, beginning in 2013, countered the vaunted AIPAC and its two-state solution for Israel and Palelstine, with the “Israeli-American Council,” more in line with the Netanyahu position of never allowing the Palestinians to have a country. The Adelsons have been the major source of funding for the “Armageddonist” faction in the Republican Party.
Politico reported that the dinner was confirmed by two people. An Adelson representative did not respond to a request for comment.
Trump has been working to cultivate Mrs. Adelson’s support for months. He also previously dined with her last October, while he was visiting Las Vegas to attend the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual conference. He also met with her last year at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Adelson has kept her money out of the primaries, but it is expected that she will weigh in heavily for media buys in the fall.
