March 29, 2024 (EIRNS)—On Wednesday, March 27, the U.S. government made the announcement that it will make a loan of $1.5 billion toward the reactivation of a nuclear power plant in Michigan.
The Palisades nuclear power plant, located on Lake Michigan, a couple of hours from Chicago, was closed down in 2022 and sold to Holtec International, which now wants to restart the plant.
May this be a sign of a change in trajectory for energy policy!
