March 10, 2024 (EIRNS)—"I want to see a ceasefire, and I’m starting with a major, major exchange of prisoners for a six-week period,” Biden told MSNBC on March 9. “We’re going into Ramadan. It should be nothing happening, and we should build off of that ceasefire.”

Biden also contradicted himself about Rafah and Israel in the interview: As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Biden warned that an Israeli attack would cross a “red line” and left open the possibility that the U.S. might withhold some types of military assistance to Israel if the operation caused extensive civilian casualties. He added, however, that a complete cutoff of weapons shipments wasn’t an option.
