British Hand Suspected Behind Zelensky’s Firing of Security Official

March 28, 2024 (EIRNS)—Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky on March 26 suddenly dismissed his longtime head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Aleksei Danilov, without any explanation. Russia’s Izvestia reported that the move reflected British consolidation of power over Kiev. In particular, Danilov’s replacement, Alexander Litvinenko, who attended the UK’s Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS), was known to have interacted closely with British intelligence operatives in his former role as the director of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service.
