March 16, 2024 (EIRNS)—As German Economy Minister Robert Habeck was busy bragging that Germany is “fully on the climate protection path,” reports showed that a record reduction in CO₂ emissions is due to industrial collapse.

Greenhouse gas emissions in Germany have fallen to a record low, says a Jan. 4 report by Agora Energiewende. There were 673 million tons of CO₂ emitted in Germany last year, down 10% from 2022, and down 46% from 1990.
