Some in Bundestag May Still Scheme To Send Taurus Missiles to Ukraine

March 15, 2024 (EIRNS)—Despite the overwhelming vote yesterday in the German Bundestag to reject a motion to send Taurus missiles to Ukraine, and despite Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s rather solid stance against sending them, there is evidence that the warmongers will renew their efforts.

Aside from the case of the German Air Force leader still plotting to deliver the missiles, there is the case of Alexander Müller, FDP defense policy spokesman, a member of the Bundestag Defense Committee, and vice chairman of German-Polish parliamentary group. In yesterday’s debate, he insisted that, three weeks ago, the Bundestag had already decided “to deliver this system.” According to the Bundestag records, he said that a motion submitted by the government coalition had already passed, which approved the delivery of “long-range weapons systems.” Hence, Müller claimed: “There is no question whatsoever that this refers to the Taurus, no doubt possible.”
