George Galloway Bashes Both Tory PM Rishi Sunak and Labour Leader ‘Sir’ Keir Starmer

March 6, 2024 (EIRNS)—Coming fresh off his dramatic victory in the by-election in Rochdale for Parliament, and following his swearing in on March 4, MP George Galloway is showing that he will only escalate his efforts, ridiculing the failing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, in an impromptu interview with a pathetic journalist from Sky News, then announcing his plans to run candidates against a number of Labour Party MPs, with confidence that they can be defeated.

Galloway’s interview with Sky News on March 1 is worth watching. The reporter repeatedly demanded that Galloway respond to Sunak, who called Galloway’s election “beyond horrifying.” Galloway responded: “You talk as if this is God. We’re talking about little Rishi Sunak in the fag end of his prime ministership. Don’t talk to me as if he’s come down from the Mount with tablets of stone, or the things that he says are somehow meant to awe me. They may awe you, they don’t awe me. Who won the election? Me or Rishi Sunak? I’ve got the democratic mandate here, not Rishi Sunak. He didn’t even come second. He was lucky to come third. So don’t put to me statements made by Rishi Sunak, as if I’m supposed to be impressed by them. He don’t impress me much.... Don’t keep telling me about the Prime Minister as if he was Moses!”

Asked whether he didn’t “respect” the Prime Minister, Galloway responded, “I despise the Prime Minister.”
