Hungarian Farmers Launching Three-Day Protest Action

March 8, 2024 (EIRNS)—Hungarian farmers are campaigning for a change in the government’s agriculture policy with a three-day demonstration this weekend, reports the Hungarian Economx business news platform.

Due to a demonstration by farmers, there will be temporary traffic restrictions in the V. and X. districts of Budapest over March 8-11, 2024. Farmers and beekeepers are campaigning for changes in state agriculture policy with their three-day demonstration. The farmers and beekeepers have reserved two locations in the capital for the demonstration: the Népliget as a meeting place and the lower quay between the Parliament and the Chain Bridge in Pest as the actual demonstration site. The main part of the demonstration, the appearance of the tractors in the city center, is planned for March 10, and on March 11, they will deliver a petition to the Minister of Agriculture.
