March 4, 2024 (EIRNS)—The Irish Senate, on Feb. 28, unanimously passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an arms embargo against Israel, and for the government to block any arms shipments going through Irish ports, airspace or land.

Four other European nations have suspended arms shipments to Israel. According to this Senate motion from Feb. 21, “Ireland must impose sanctions on Israel, ban imported goods and services from Israeli settlements, divest from companies in these settlements, prevent U.S. weapons from passing through Ireland, and push for an international arms embargo on Tel Aviv,” reported Al Arabiya News on Feb. 28.
