La Repubblica Asks, If There Is Disagreement on Russia in the U.S. Government

March 22, 2024 (EIRNS)—According to the Italian daily La Repubblica, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan had approved a final draft statement for the G7 prepared by the Italian G7 Presidency, which characterized the recent Russia elections as a “farce.” U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, however, considered it to be “inappropriate” and rejected it. Italian media are laughing at the Italian government that, being more royalist than the King, cut quite a brutta figura on this one.
