German Health Minister Lauterbach Urges ‘Germany’s Hospitals Must Prepare for War’

March 3, 2024 (EIRNS)—German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) told the newspaper, Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung, in an interview published on March 2, that “In the event of a crisis, every doctor, every hospital, every health authority must know what to do. We need clear responsibilities—for example, for the distribution of a high number of injured people among the clinics in Germany.”

The dail asked if he thought it were necessary to make the healthcare system “war ready,” to which Lauterbach insisted: “Yes, we not only have to prepare ourselves better for future pandemics, as we did with the new Infection Protection Act. We also need to prepare ourselves better for major disasters and possible military conflicts.”
