March 3, 2024 (EIRNS)—A major international conference is being held March 1-3 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Although coverage has yet to be forthcoming, a review of the agenda, speakers and institutions show it to be intriguing.
The conference was organized by The Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian-Tanzanian Cultural Centre, and is entitled, “The Place of Africa in the World: The Past and the Present.” It is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and presentations were made in English and Russian.
The agenda included topics such as “The Place of Africa in the World: Historical Dimension”; “Nation Building in Postcolonial Africa: Ideologies and Practices”; and “Africa in the Global International Relations: From Neocolonialism to True Independence.”
