New Farm Protests in Poland, Czechia, Spain, and France

March 21, 2024 (EIRNS)—Farmers in Poland and the Czech Republic once again held protests yesterday in numerous locations. In Poland, there was a nationwide day of action, with events at 580 locations involving up to 70,000 protesters. The demonstrations are particularly directed against the EU’s Green Deal on so-called climate and environmental protection. The conservative farmers’ union Solidarność had called for the day of action. In the Czech Republic, farmers brought 1,500 tractors and other farm vehicles out onto the roads.
