March 12, 2024 (EIRNS)—German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) rejected a proposal by British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, by which Germany would send their Taurus missiles to Britain, and the U.K. would send their long-range Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine. This would, he thought, avoid the problem that Germany was finding in sending their long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, which are largely equivalent. The Greens Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock had approved the suggestion, but Pistorius definitely does not, putting the two ministers at loggerheads.
