March 20, 2024 (EIRNS)—In a March 18 interview with conservative radio talk show host Sebastian Gorka, a former campaign aide, Donald Trump told his host, “I actually think they hate Israel. Any Jewish person who votes for Democrats hates their religion. … They hate everything about Israel, and they should be ashamed of themselves because Israel will be destroyed.”
Trump’s remarks prompted an outburst from Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband Doug Emhoff, who charged “this is a disgusting, toxic, anti-Semitic thing to say, by anyone, let alone a former President of the United States and it must be condemned.” The Biden campaign also attacked Trump’s comments, as did the Anti-Defamation League, as Politico reported March 19. Note, however, that the ADL had no such criticism of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s comments at a Feb. 15 Harvard University interview in which he called for removing Palestinians from Gaza and sending them to the Negev desert or to Egypt, so that Gaza can be “cleaned out” and rebuilt—but probably only for those who want to buy “valuable” waterfront property.
