UN Security Council Issues Statement Over Aid Truck Massacre

March 3, 2024 (EIRNS)—Al Ahram reported that the UN Security Council issued a statement Saturday expressing “deep concern” regarding the incident where over 100 Palestinians lost their lives and over 750 were injured at a large gathering surrounding a humanitarian assistance convoy southwest of Gaza City. The incident has been named the “flour massacre” as some of the aid trucks were reportedly carrying flour.

In its statement, the council stressed “the need to take all necessary measures to protect civilians” and urged “parties of the conflict to allow, facilitate, and enable the immediate, rapid, safe, sustained, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance at scale.”
