April 7, 2024 (EIRNS)—The Schiller Institute’s international conference on “The Oasis Plan: The LaRouche Solution for Peace Through Development Between Israel and Palestine and for All of Southwest Asia”, convening on April 13, is an absolutely crucial step, right at this moment, toward peace through development—not just in that region, but worldwide.
The terrible war and starvation unleashed in Palestine, already designated a “plausible genocide” by bodies of the United Nations including the International Court of Justice, and also the killing of those who attempt to bring aid to Palestinians, has created a worldwide revulsion which is unsettling even the war presidents and war parties of NATO. But their war drive is a bigger one, against the growing BRICS group of nations which represent the potential of a new and different paradigm in international relations, one of cooperation among sovereign developing countries for mutual economic, technological, scientific development. That cooperation and technology transfer, spreading into Southwest Asia and Africa through the expansion of the BRICS, is the target of NATO’s war against Russia, war menace and embargo economic attempts against China, war destabilizations against new BRICS members in Southwest Asia.
Israel’s war, while threatening the very existence of Palestine and Palestinians, has been aimed at Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the expanding BRICS. Now, under worldwide opprobrium, Israel has for the moment withdrawn most of its forces from Gaza, allowing various speculations to circulate as to why. And it has just conducted a military strike directly at Iran, while keeping up air war operations against Lebanon and Syria.
The strategy of the NATO imperial war party against this new paradigm is continuing to evolve, to include a “breakaway ally” option for Israel, as first warned of by Lyndon LaRouche X years ago, and succinctly explained by LaRouche spokesman Harley Schlanger in this 16-minute “Daily Update” webcast on Friday, April 5.
Now the new paradigm must “strike back” by a breakthrough for the Oasis Plan for peace through development. It expresses the potential of the BRICS group of nations and the Belt and Road Initiative, and it is exemplary of the new strategic and economic development architecture needed by every nation in the world. It is desperately needed for all of Southwest Asia right now.
Without aiming at that rapid economic reconstruction and recovery, to hope for a better life than before this terrible war, any apparent “peace” settlement will be brief, and deceptively conceal more war, as it proved after Oslo and at many other times. Active citizens, organizations, nations that want peace should say its name, development.
The full title of that Saturday, April 13 conference is “The Oasis Plan: The LaRouche Solution for Peace Through Development between Israel and Palestine and for All of Southwest Asia.”
