Taiwan Former KMT Head Ma Ying-jeou Visits Mainland China

April 1, 2024 (EIRNS)—In his latest trip to the Chinese mainland, former Taiwan president (2008-2016) and KMT chairman Ma Ying-jeou has brought 20 students from Taiwan, for a visit that will include Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, Shaanxi Province, and Beijing. Ma, who no longer holds any official position, is quoted as saying that “This is a trip of peace and friendship.”

He has visited drone maker DJI and internet giant Tencent (the operator of everything-app WeChat).

Ma visited the mainland in April 2023, also with a group of young Taiwanese. This was the first visit of a former Taiwanese president to mainland China.
