“Iran carried out its much-anticipated response to Israel’s targeted strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria over the weekend—but despite headlines you may be seeing about World War III, this is a chance for the United States to put an end to the violence in the Middle East.
“Iran’s retaliatory strike against Israel led to zero deaths, and the nation stated clearly that they were more than willing to consider the matter resolved so long as Israel and its allies—including the United States—do not continue the violent cycle.
“But instead of letting the matter rest, the Israeli war cabinet is meeting to discuss further escalation of the situation, and opening up the possibility of more violence in the region that would potentially embroil the United States in another endless war in the region.
“President Biden has the power to shut down Israel’s ‘war cabinet’ with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Benny Gantz, and other war hawks. We’re demanding that the Biden administration insist that Israel stop provoking war in the Middle East and make clear that the U.S. will not support Israeli defense if they attack Iran again.
“It’s clear that extremist leaders in Israel are on the warpath. Their attacks and escalations against Iran come after months of indiscriminate bombing and starvation of Palestinians in Gaza, and their violent actions are increasing tension in the region.
