Kirby Is Asked If Israel Got Help from U.S. with a No-Fly Zone, How About Ukraine?

April 17, 2024 (EIRNS)—Among the commentary about the Iranian retaliation against Israel, some authors have taken note of the fact that the U.S., the U.K. and France all helped shoot down drones and missiles targeting Israel, which helped establish something of a no-fly zone over Israel. White House spokesman John Kirby was asked about this during the Tuesday April 16 daily briefing, inquiring whether the same tactics could be used in the Ukraine conflict.

According to RT Kirby responded: “I knew this question was coming. Look: different conflicts, different airspace, different threat picture. And [President Joe Biden] has been clear from the beginning [of the Ukraine hostilities] that the U.S. is not going to be involved in that conflict in a combat role.”
