April 8, 2024 (EIRNS)—At an event at the Islamic Center of Boston, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was asked about the ongoing legal process at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, in which Israel has been accused of committing genocide in Gaza by the government of South Africa. Warren sidestepped stating her personal view on whether or not genocide is occurring, but she did say that “If you want to do it as an application of law, I believe that they’ll find that it is genocide, and they have ample evidence to do so,” according to an account in Haaretz. Although there is growing criticism of Israel within the Democratic Party, Warren was the first Senator to call a spade a spade. She has also called on the Biden administration to stop selling arms to Israel.
