April 1, 2024 (EIRNS)—The manufacturer of Germany’s Taurus cruise missiles, MBDA, has suspended production, for lack of orders from the government. According to a report in Der Spiegel, the German government has not completed the process of drawing up weapon procurement orders, without which, said the company’s German branch head Thomas Gottschild, MBDA could not produce stocks.

“The arms industry needs a base load in production,” he said. “It’s enough to make it worthwhile to maintain supply chains, keep test equipment state-of-the-art and maintain the competence of employees,” reports Der Spiegel, according to Sputnik.
