April 2, 2024 (EIRNS)—U.S. infrastructure falls apart at its petty pace, day-by-day.
Four days after a container vessel rammed into one of the two piers of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on I-695 in Baltimore, spanning the Patapsco River, collapsing the bridge and killing 6 people—a collapse that could have been prevented—a barge struck bridge on U.S. Highway 59 spanning the Arkansas River on March 30. The accident shut part of the bridge for hours.
