April 4, 2024 (EIRNS)—The Voice of America, sometimes known as the Voice of the CIA, published an attack on the agreement reached between China and Australia to restore friendly relations and to lift the trade dispute left over from the years of Scott Morrison’s time as Prime Minister, during which he implemented a number of anti-China policies. At the time, China’s response included a tariff on Australian wine, which has now been lifted. The U.S. moved quickly to fill the gap by increasing imports.

PM Albanese issued a statement that the agreement with China ‘'comes at a critical time for the Australian wine industry,” adding that the removal “means that Australia will discontinue its legal proceedings at the WTO,” where Australia was challenging the tariff.
