April 13, 2024 (EIRNS)—Donald Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson held a press conference after their April 12 meeting in Florida, where Trump gave Johnson his support against the effort to oust Johnson as Speaker, being led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. “He’s doing about as good as you’re going to do and I’m sure that Marjorie understands that and she’s a very good friend of mine, and I know she has a lot of respect for the Speaker,” Trump said. It’s “unfortunate that people bring it [the motion to vacate] up because right now we have much bigger problems,” Trump said.
