April 9, 2024 (EIRNS)—Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned in her April 3 briefing that NATO’s “minimum task” is to start a second front in the Transcaucasus region in order to “set the region on fire again.” A powerful strategic overview on this issue can be found in Lyndon LaRouche’s famous “Storm Over Asia” broadcast of November 1999, in the midst of a similar destabilization operation being run against Russia in that region.
This involves, first and foremost, Georgia, which NATO is trying to bring into membership. There is an internal fight in the country over that issue. It is also expressed in NATO and the EU’s courting of Armenia, which is now moving away from Russia and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), of which it was a member.
