Russian billionaire and darling of the West, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, has admitted to Ukraine’s defeat while speaking at an event hosted by the Zentrum Liberale Moderne in Berlin.
After asking Ukrainians to please cover their ears, he said: “Everyone, you have practically lost the war in Ukraine. We have lost it.” He proceeded to depict the harsh realities of the conflict, including Russia’s outmanning and outgunning Ukraine’s forces on every front—a ratio which is increasing month by month. When you consider the ammunition and manpower ratio between the two countries, he says it is at least a 7 to 1 “force ratio” and will soon be 10 to 1 or even 12 to 1.
Khodorkovsky predicts that Ukraine will lose Kharkiv by the end of the year, Odessa by mid-2025, and by 2026 will be left narrowly defending Kyiv and Lviv—at best.
He then says we must be honest with Ukraine: “We have betrayed you. Stop the pointless resistance.”
His solution, however, reflects the utter insanity gripping some in the West. The West and NATO must “step up their efforts to aid Ukraine and hinder Putin,” he wrote in an X post highlighting his speech. “If democracies do not want to unite and give a decisive rebuff, dictatorships are no longer afraid.”
