AP reported last night that the Biden Administration has notified key members of Congress of plans to send another $1 billion in weapons and other military equipment to Israel. According to Congressional sources this doesn’t include the 3,500 two thousand-pound bombs for Israel that Biden put a hold on last week. The package disclosed May 14 includes about $700 million for tank ammunition, $500 million in tactical vehicles and $60 million in mortar rounds, the sources said.
There was no immediate indication when the arms would be sent. Two Congressional aides said the shipment is not part of the long-delayed foreign aid package that Congress passed and President Joe Biden signed last month. Otherwise, the provenance of the transfer is not reported.
