The U.S. military has completed a floating pier off the Gaza Strip to start ferrying humanitarian supplies, reports AP. The $320 million project can handle the supply of at 150 truckloads of aid per day, far less than is required.

This silly pier is a solution to a problem that shouldn’t exist, as there are hundreds of trucks backed up at the land border, ready to enter Gaza with life-saving supplies.

Officially, the pier will allow the delivery of 500 tons of food within a few days.
