Bill To Provide Americans Serving in the IDF Protections Afforded to U.S. Service Members

Congressmen Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) and Max Miller (R-OH) have introduced H.R. 8445, which, according to a Reschenthaler press release, would “extend the benefits of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) and Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) to American citizens serving in the Israel Defense Forces.”

This would prevent discrimination on the basis of service in the IDF, and provide protections on such financial matters as evictions, credit card interest rates, mortgages, income tax payments, and more.
