The Chang’e-6 lunar mission has succeeded in its first major phase, performing an engine burn on the night of May 7, in order to slow down the vehicles enough to be captured by the Moon’s orbit. It will now be controlled through the Queqiao-2 relay satellite. At the appropriate time, the orbiter will release the combined lander and ascent stage.
