Dutch Members of Parliament Call for Investigation Of Israeli Spying on ICC

Kati Piri, an MP from the Green-Labor Alliance, and Jan Paternotte, an MP of the D66 party, are leading a drive to investigate reports of alleged spying on prosecutors and others from the International Criminal Court, according to The Guardian. Piri said, “The Netherlands has a special responsibility to protect court employees and people who [want to] bear witness to war crimes.” Piri continued, “The claims are extremely serious: intimidation here in The Hague for years and pressure for the past few months on chief prosecutor [Karim] Khan. The Netherlands has a special responsibility as host country of the ICC to make sure that the court can function independently and that its employees are free of this kind of intimidation.”
