Georgia Parliament Moves To Override Veto of Foreign Agent Registration Bill

On May 27, the Judiciary Committee of the Parliament of Georgia voted to reject President Salome Zourabichvili’s veto of transparency of foreign influence bill, that would force NGOs with more than 20% of their income from foreign sources to register as carrying out the interests of a foreign power. This sets the stage for the full body to vote to override the veto, possibly on May 28.
