Thousand of Catholics Circulate Letter to Biden for Gaza Ceasefire, Halt To U.S. Weapons to Israel

Catholics for Middle East Peace (CEMP) released a public letter to President Joe Biden May 24, titled, “Sign-On Letter from U.S. Catholics on Israel-Palestine.” The letter, which now has some 2,300 signers, calls for “an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.” It also states, “We call on President Biden, a fellow Catholic, and other U.S. and international leaders, to do everything possible to ensure a permanent end to hostilities, including halthing additional shipments of U.S. funded offensive weapons to Israel…. “
