Russian President Vladimir Putin sent greetings yesterday to the opening day of the 15th International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum.” The week-long event will be attended by over 11,000 people, representing 80 countries. The activities and meetings range from energy, agriculture, manufacturing, and other economic topics, to culture, sports, fashion and tourism.

Putin said, “Russia values its traditionally friendly ties with Muslim countries. We highly appreciate their desire to pursue an independent foreign policy and increase their role in international affairs. Together, we stand for the formation of a democratic multipolar world order….”
