On May 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin traveled to Belarus for a two-day state visit with President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Aside from discussing what they said would be a “full range of relations” between their countries, including trade, strategic issues, joint projects, and more, Putin also mentioned that Belarus would take part in a further round of nuclear weapons exercises.
“The second phase of the exercises has to do with the direct participation of our military allies and colleagues from Belarus,” Putin told Lukashenko. It’s not clear when or where this second round will take place.
