The management of Siemens Gamesa has announced plans to cut its total workforce by 4,100 jobs (15% of its workforce) in the context of a restructuring of its onshore wind-power construction. With the restructuring, Gamesa says that, by concentrating on the offshore business, it will gain more profit. One-third of the job cuts will be in Europe, in Spain, Germany, and Denmark. The Gamesa operation in India will be shut down completely.
