The gunman who attempted to assassinate Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico on May 15, Juraj Cintula, attended an anti-Fico demonstration less than three weeks earlier, where he chanted the slogans (translated into English) “Enough of Fico,” “Traitors,” and “Long live Ukraine!” The video by TV Noviny shows Cintula at the April 26 demonstration in front of a government meeting in Lower Korompa.
After he shot Fico on May 15, Cintula reportedly told authorities that he had begun planning to assassinate Fico back in April.
