Sudden Crackdown in Australia against Student Ceasefire Protesters

A wave of student protests and encampments, often with the participation of faculty members, have taken over most university campuses across Australia. There have been no reports of violence or property damage, yet school administrators are suddenly in a mad dash to stop the activism. According to London’s The Guardian, some students have been banned from certain areas of their campus (the areas where protests have been taking place). At least one branch of the teachers’ union sees the administrators as trying to twist school regulations to limit free speech. Students have reported that administrators have rejected student attempts to have dialogue with them in some cases.
