A long list of Palestinian organizations, Belgian civic groups, the Union of Progressive Jews in Belgium, and many others filled the streets on May 19 in a march in Brussels for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The Brussels Times reported that in addition to a ceasefire, marchers also demanded a fair resolution to the conflict, the protection of civilians, an end the siege to allow aid to enter Gaza, the release all hostages, a total EU military embargo on Israel, economic and diplomatic sanctions against Israel, support for the ICC and ICJ investigations of war crimes, and the halt to all trade with Israeli settlements. This was the sixth major demonstration in seven months for a ceasefire in this capital of the European Union.
