Biden Administration ‘Worried’ About Israeli Attack on Lebanon

The Biden Administration is engaged in yet another doomed effort to head off a war, this one between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. As with the fruitless effort to impose a ceasefire deal on Hamas in Gaza, the likely result of this effort will be that Israel will go to war against Hezbollah. The U.S. will protest while continuing to supply bombs and missiles that will then be used to kill Lebanese civilians.

Amos Hochstein, a member of Biden’s National Security Council, was in Israel yesterday, where he “met with Israel’s war leadership on Monday in an attempt to avoid further escalation between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon,” reported the Times of Israel. According to a White House official, in Hochstein’s meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, he will be looking to advance efforts to rein in hostilities along the “Blue Line” between Israel and Lebanon. Little else was reported about the content of those discussions.
