California is proud of its agricultural bounty and every year that bounty is showcased at the State Fair in Sacramento. According to the Los Angeles Times this year the state fair will open on July 12 and will include a 30,000 square foot area called a “cannabis oasis” which is promoted as being “educational.” In this “educational” area one can view up to 300 different THC-containing products and then purchase the product. These products can be consumed in the “oasis” or taken home. Pot has been promoted at previous state fairs, but it was seen more as an embarrassment. On July 27 the “Best of California” award will be announced at a glitzy, Oscar-style ceremony.
