China on Washington Talks: Talk to Resolve, Not Increase, Tensions

U.S. reporting on the Washington meetings of China’s Vice Minister Ma Zhaoxu with Kurt Campbell, Jake Sulliven and Jon Finer, reported in an EIR News briefing, was mostly about U.S. lecturing and threatening China. The Global Times today provides China’s view that, while the meetings continue the effort to maintain high level diplomacy between the governments, China “aimed at sending a clear message to the US about China’s redlines on its core interests.”

They report: “There is no future in zero-sum games under the guise of competition, and China will not accept suppression or deprivation of its legitimate development rights, Ma said while holding consultations with US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell in Washington on Thursday local time.”
