High Court Overturns 'State Secrets' Conviction of Pakistan’s Former Prime Minister Imran Khan

The chilling conviction and 10-year sentence of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan, for making public, while head of state, a 2022 message from his ambassador in Washington, was overturned today by the Islamabad High Court. Khan had claimed that his government was being threatened by Washington to join the chorus against Russia or be overthrown. Then he provided the message whereby Pakistan’s ambassador to Washington explained that the U.S. State Department had done just that.
