Presidents Macron, Biden Have No Comment on Israeli Massacre in Nuseirat

According to the White House transcript of the “Remarks by President Biden and President Macron of France in Joint Press Statements in Paris, France” on June 8, both President Joe Biden and President Emmanuel Macron praised the Israeli military forces’ rescue of four hostages held by Hamas, but had nothing to say about the tremendous loss of life and suffering of Palestinian civilians in Nuseirat.

President Macron (as interpreted) stated: “In Gaza, we want to obtain the immediate liberation of hostages, and we can only welcome the liberation of four hostages by the Israeli army. We want to achieve an immediate ceasefire and open up the prospect of a political solution, which is the only one that can bring about a fair and lasting peace and meet the security concerns of both people. And that is why we are supporting the comprehensive proposal of the United States of America.”

President Biden had even less to say, “I want to echo President Macron’s comments welcoming the safe rescue of four hostages that were returned to their families in Israel. We won’t stop working until all the hostages come home and a ceasefire is reached. That is essential to happen.”
