Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma, called for Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron to resign, following their parties’ heavy losses in the elections for the European Parliament. Dmitry Medvedev, the former president of Russia, now the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, was less polite, calling Scholz a “rotten liverwurst.” Scholz should “get down on his knees and repent before the Ukrainians” for lying to them that they could achieve victory against Russia, and for “dooming them to the slaughter while sacrificing the well-being of the Germans,” Medvedev said.
