Denmark wants to be the first country in the world to tax methane emissions from cows. The levy on the greenhouse gas methane emitted by livestock is intended to help the Scandinavian country become climate-neutral by 2045. The pretend “environmental protection” outfit Greenpeace speaks of an “important step” in the fight against climate change. But even the Association for Sustainable Agriculture rejects the tax, as do farmers in general, because of the immense financial burden (and the fact that cows refuse to pay). Major farmers’ protests are expected.
