Top British media that reflect the policy outlook of the City of London and related financial oligarchs are responding to the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on July 13 by “predicting” that the United States is now going to face escalating “left-vs.-right” violence, of exactly the sort that is called for by their policy of subjecting the United States to a “strategy of tension” to make it ungovernable. Under those circumstances, British think tanks such as Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and Chatham House have proposed, NATO will step in and take on the role of a supranational war council to pursue the policy of permanent war confrontation with Russia and China. And the British—of course—will be the guiding hand behind that policy.
To wit: An article in The Economist on July 14 reported that “this near miss bodes dismally for the rest of the campaign. As Republicans gather in Milwaukee this week for their party’s convention, it is essential that partisans on both sides seek to calm the national mood, rather than inflaming it further. There is a high risk that some will do the opposite.” They added that “the frenzy of speculation on social media about supposed conspiracies is utterly baseless. What’s more, it is perilous: It could easily lead to more political violence.”
Financial Times headlined a July 14 article “Trump Shooting Takes U.S. To the Brink.” They argued that “American democracy was again becoming a cauldron of tension, anger and toxicity like it was in the days after the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.” The article then reported: “Several Republicans close to Trump, including J.D. Vance, an Ohio senator and a possible vice-presidential pick, squarely blamed Biden for fomenting the attack by proclaiming Trump a threat to American democracy. Mike Collins, a Republican House member, claimed on social media that Biden had `sent the orders.’ Trump has not joined in those accusations for now…. Dark fears that the rematch between Trump and Biden will be marred by more violence—either in the months that remain until the vote or after it—were rampant on Sunday.”
